Kilohana Crater Expeditions is a guided off-road adventure into the heart of Kauaʻi, beginning at historic Kilohana Plantation. Guests travel in comfortable multi-passenger Kawasaki Mules through fruit orchards, fern valleys, pastureland’s, forested trails, and lush private landscapes that reveal several of Kauaʻi’s remarkable micro climates along the way.

Along the journey, guests may encounter open pastureland with grazing cattle, native Hawaiian plants and trees, and access to the grounds of Iliahi Estate, a historic plantation-era property tucked into the mountains above Kilohana.

The highlight is riding the rim to Kilohana Crater, where guests enjoy a refreshment stop surrounded by sweeping island scenery, including Mount Wai’ale’ale. On the return, the views continue with sights of Kalapaki Bay and Hāʻupu Mountain. Throughout the tour, guides share the history, stories, movie locations, and aloha of this special place.

Experience a side of Kauaʻi few visitors ever see on a guided UTV expedition through Kilohana’s private back-country. Guided off-road UTV expedition from historic Kilohana Plantation through private backcountry trails, pastureland, fern valleys, bamboo forest, Iliahi Estate grounds, and the rim of Kilohana Crater. Local guides share will share cultural storytelling, historic plantation lands, native plants, cattle country, and panoramic island views.

  • Helmets are required. Helmets, goggles, and dust gaiters are provided.

    Really nice tour! Atv’s
    are new, clean, comfortable and have a lot of power. Great way to see the views of island.

    Such an amazing tour! The only opportunity to go visit and stand at the edge of the Kilohana crater. Beautiful views. Tour leader Kai shared his knowledge of the creation of the islands and the Hawaiian people. A great Tour for all ages.
    Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dusty/dirty from riding on the trails. The dirt is worth it for the experience.
