Eighty-four foot ketch. Five years. Four thousand miles. The result: A boatload of handcrafted works of art and cultural artifacts. Jim Vicky and Dylan’s epic trip inspired Havaiki Oceanic and Tribal Art which features a collection of treasures from the countries of Oceania; particularly the Solomon Islands, Papau New Guinea and Hawaii. Many items are museum quality. Others are made from centuries old practices. All are one-of-a-kind, including contemporary jewelry – influenced by primitive design,b prints and T-shirts. What’s more, every table, sculpture, calabash, necklace – everything comes with an interesting story.
